We have been producing murder mystery dinners in Nova Scotia using traditional formats and some unique to our company. These are designed to meet the needs of almost any group or gathering anywhere in the province.
The industry standard bring 4-7 actors interacting with your crowd leading up to a murder and a comedic investigation. Meet and talk with the crazy cast of characters, witness a crime and then work together to solve it!
We create a scenario where the audience is unaware that a murder mystery show is taking place. Up until the dead body hits the floor, they think it is really happening. The relief lets them break loose and have a great time!
Our suite of participation mysteries that we call the Cambridge Solution because we thought it was Harvard Smart when we cam up with it, has people from your group play characters. These leaders interact and the others work as teams to solve the crime. It is a great way to get your people directly involved!
For larger groups, going table to table can be overwhelming. For this, we have the suspects take the stage and give speeches about their involvement. They get out the basic informaton and are provided with two options for two different speeches so that they always have some control over their journey!
For smaller groups, you can have everyone play a character and interact. Our Dartmouth Plan allows for groups to have more face time with one another and build familiarity which can help with icebreaking at the beginning of events.
More of a stand-up comedy routine, this involves one or two detectives investigating an improvised whodunit while directly involving your audience members in the crime. This creates a personalized show that could never be repeated!
THE MARITIMES The Maritimes are a bit more laid back than a lot of places. There is a large reliance on natural resources and tourism. Of course, it is also seen as a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the larger urban environments. This makes having quality entertainment all the more important when there aren't as many other options. The idea of getting away from normal business is to make interpersonal connections. Improvisation is entirely about finding the humanity in each other and bonding together as a group.
OUR GREEN COMMITMENT We work hard to serve our clients in the way that they require. We also work hard to reduce the carbon footprint of any event as best we can while still meeting the exacting standards that we are known for. We recycle, utilize local talent when preferable, and look to leave places better than we found them. When we do travel, we take pains to reduce our impact on the environment as makes sense. Of course, we are not perfect, but we simply try to be less harmful than we could be.
WE COME TO YOU!
We work with groups that are small, medium and large. We also work with people that are in the city, the suburbs, and that are in more rural areas. It never made sense to get our own facilities. We come to a venue of your choosing and this allows you to make your own food and beverage options. In general, you want enough light to see, enough space to move around comfortably, and it should be quiet enough to hear. Everything else can be adjusted to.
The first step is to determine your needs. This includes potential goals, desires and concerns. Is it more than just entertainment? If you are looking to show appreciation to clients or employees, for example, then we would take one approach. If it is family and friends, we might approach it differently. The more we know about what has already been decided can allow us to narrow the conversation to approaches that interest you.
We need to know the type of venue you will have and where in Nova Scotia you will be. A date, or date range, for when you would like to have this and what time frame you are looking for will help to determine our commitment and availability. Knowing the size of your group, though that will likely just be an estimate, will allow us to choose approprate options for the performance and have a better feel for the resources required.
If you know budget limitations, that can allow us to restrict the conversations to those options that will be within your financial constraints. This works in both directions. We don't want to overbuild and propose options that can't be done. Also, we don't want to underbuild and not provide a large enough of a show to achieve the show that will exceed your expectations.
